PV subsidy 2025 in Austria: secure up to a 30% bonus

Starting June 2025, there is up to a 30% bonus on PV systems and storage units using EU components. Apply for your subsidy now - we will handle the processing for you!

More subsidies for photovoltaics and storage - now with a "Made in Europe" bonus

Up to an extra +30% subsidy bonus for European components - what this means for your PV system.

Subsidies for renewable energy are reaching a new level in 2025: with the new Made-in-Europe bonus the Austrian federal government is rewarding investment in European technologies.

Anyone choosing solar modules, inverters or energy storage systems with European value creation receives an additional 10% subsidy bonus on top of the base grant.

Goals of the bonus:

  • Strengthen European industry
  • Increase security of supply
  • Promote the expansion of renewable energy

What exactly is the Made-in-Europe bonus?

From 23 June 2025 the new bonus takes effect as part of the second EAG funding call.

The top-ups on the investment grant are:

  • +10% for PV modules with European value creation
  • +10% for inverters with European value creation
  • +10% for energy storage systems with European value creation

Note: The maximum combined top-up is therefore +30% for a PV system including energy storage, provided all three components can be proven to have been manufactured in Europe.

Important:The components must demonstrably originate from the European Economic Area or Switzerland and have undergone specific manufacturing steps within Europe.

Thinking European financially pays off while simultaneously strengthening Europe as a business location.

How high is the subsidy in 2025?

The subsidy amount depends on the output of the planned photovoltaic system and is tiered as follows:

Category System size Subsidy amount
A up to 10 kWp 160 €/kWp
B >10–20 kWp 150 €/kWp
C >20–100 kWp 140 €/kWp (max.)
D >100 kWp 130 €/kWp (max.)
Storage - 150 €/kWh

The maximum subsidy rate is 30% of eligible investment costs.

For battery storage systems the grant is

  • €150 per kWh of storage capacity.

Bonus also for innovative PV systems

In addition to the Made-in-Europe bonus, there is a +30% top-up for innovative PV systems, such as:

  • Building-integrated PV with functions such as weather protection, fire protection, or thermal insulation
  • Floating PV systems
  • PV as parking lot canopies with at least 10 parking spaces
  • Agri-PV with higher-mounted modules
  • PV on noise barrier walls or dam walls

This top-up can also be requested in addition to the base subsidy, provided the technical requirements are met.

How do I apply for the Made-in-Europe bonus?

  1. From 23 June 2025 submit your funding application through the EAG portal .
  2. When applying, specify EU-compliant components
  3. After funding approval, provide proof of the actual components used.
  4. Required: proof of origin and manufacturing steps

You can find the current whitelist documents on the official EAG processing agency website.
